Ballachulish
Up

First stop on our trip was Glasgow, but we were jet lagged and confused, so things didn't really start to make sense until we arrived at Ballachulish in western Scotland, near Glen Coe.

This is the Ballachulish House Hotel, a 17th century Laird's house.  They serve elegant dinners and porridge in the morning.

Glen Coe is beautiful and on our first day, we climbed the Pap of Glen Coe and were rewarded with this view.

When we stopped  for dinner at a pub near the Hotel, this was the view as the showers cleared.  One of the great things about Scotland in June is that it stays light until about 10:00 PM or so.  This picture was taken at about 9:00.

We stayed in Ballachulish for 3 days before leaving for Stonehaven on the east coast .  On our drive we stopped in the Glen over and over to get out and climb on the hillsides to enjoy the views.
